    Up for auction is a delightful small Royal Delft De Porceleyne Fles plate.
    The year code is CD, corresponding to 1959.
    It measures 4” in diameter.
    It is in very nice vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. It has, like all De Fles pieces of this age, crazing, which adds to its charm. Please see the pictures.
    Founded in 1635, De Porceleyne Fles (The Porcelain Jar or Bottle) is Holland’s most famous Delft Blue factory. Of the dozens of original 17th century Dutch pottery makers, only De Porceleyne Fles remains in operation. Collectors know that delftware produced by De Porceleyne Fles, (also known as Royal Delft,) is recognized to be the standard against which all delftware is judged. Each piece is coded with the factory mark, an item number, the artist's initials, a date code.
